We rode the light rail on Opening Day. It was free and fun. We rode from Apache, all the way to the northern end, and back. I was shocked to see the hundreds of people waiting in line for the Light Rail. It was really cool to see it so crowded, and to see how kind all the people could be despite the crowding. The girls loved the trip too. I am glad the city added this, because now we can ride in and beat traffic all the way to any major sporting event we would like to attend.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Every Christmas Eve, Kyle reads the girls Twas the Night Before Christmas. They look forward to the story, and know that bedtime is nigh. It is one of the only true traditions we are consistent with so far, I am sure there are many more to come. Can you see the excitement in their faces knowing, Santa is nearby. My Mom also read me the story, and watched Santa Watch with me every Christmas Eve, just like we do with them.

Making Cookies, overflowing with love!

We accidentally mismeasured the butter on the cookie recipe we used for Christmas. We gave a bunch of cookies to friends and had to figure out the solution. In the end we had to quadruplicate the cookie recipe, and I was not sure if my mixer coudl handle it. In the end it did, and the cookies tasted delicious, but it makes for a fun Christmas memory. As you can see from the picture the mixer is filled to the very top. I will triple check next time, so that we don't end up in the same predicament.

5 a.m. Iron Girls!

My friends and I developed a group of women that wake up at 5 a.m. and exercise. Today we did the Iron Girls 5k together. The walk/race was at Tempe Beach Park. It was sooooo fun. I had a blast, and I can barely wait to do another. My time was 52.09 and that is my official 1st Race time. I don't think it is bad for my 1st 3 mile walk. We jogged a bit, and walked as fast as we could, but most of all we got medals for it. Its kinda cheesy that I am all dorked out about my medal, but this is a huge accomplishment for me. I am very excited to see where we all will be in the next year.
