Not Breathing

Ok...I will try to make this short...
Yesterday, I went to check on Riesse during her nap...I was cleaning the bathrooms and didn't get a lot of time to check on her, but I had a free minute. I walked into the room and looked at her, automatically assuming that I would see her breathe, because I always do. She wasn't breathing though. Not at all. In the 5 seconds of hysteria that felt like hours I quickly decided I was done with life, and then I realized there may be hope don't give up. So...I decided to try CPR first. As I touched Riesse's stomach, prepared to start CPR, she jerked to life, and gasped for air until she caught her breath on her own. She was fine, EXHALE...obviously I was still worried so I watched her fall asleep again just to see if she was really fine. She fell asleep within seconds and instantly quit breathing again...about 5 seconds later she jerked awake, cried a little, and fell back asleep, and quit breathing again. This happened 5 times before I decided to call the Doctor.

The Nurse told me to take her to the hospital, call 911 actually, but I asked a friend to drive me. We were at the hospital all night after they admitted Riesse for observation (which basically means you sit around and wait for 24 hours). In the end they figured she has gastro-reflux, which I already knew (most babies have it). Apparently the baby's airway will lock down to protect itself if acid gets near it, and this is "probably" what happened. She is fine now, with no other dramatic episodes as of yet, but I am apprehensive. Please keep her in your prayers. She is on a medication now that should prevent the reflux, and she should grow out of it soon, but just in case, we all know who is best at healing.

Trying to calm down now...
on the bright side...this white shirt, (pictured above) was free and she can wear it with almost anything. =)
