I am a republican, but I vote based on who I believe in. I try very hard to separate fact from fiction in the process. The are many websites that help with this. I realize that there are many lies being spread about Obama...I am increasingly aware of the bias in the media both against McCain and for Obama. I have finally decided...I am voting for McCain Palin. Rather than spew out a lot of jargon I will tell you the one thing that swung my vote...and if you want to debate about more feel free to call me. I read about Obama's voting record in regards to Born Alive Protection Act.
In some cases, fetuses are aborted and they stay alive...mostly during the 2nd trimester. As many as 1/3 of the fetuses are alive when they are born as a result of a 2nd trimester abortion. In Illinois this Born Alive Protection Act was passed because people felt these live babies, although they have next to no chance for survival due to the fact that the doctor tries to make sure they die during the abortion process, but people felt these fetuses should be given care. At the time the act was presented medical personel were putting the fetuses in a sterile room to die alone, and they suffocated to death. Digressing...Obama voted present 2x in regards to 2 separate bills. I have read his logic, I understand his reasoning but I feel it is wrong. Voting present has the same effect as a no Vote. The bill did eventually pass, but not as result of his constitutions.
I will not debate the topic of abortion, as it causes heated emotions. I will say that I am not entirely against it though. I do feel that this act was crucial to human decency. There are many cites where you can look up information pertaining to this vote. Some are legitimate and some are not. However, it is always important to be well informed.
There is no great choice, it is the lesser of two evils.
But I am voting for McCain & Palin.
This is my last political statement for the blog. LOL
